We spent this last week in South Africa with missionaries from Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Zambia. The theme for the week was taken from John 17:23, "I in them, and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." During our time together we worshiped, prayed, learned from God's Word, and encouraged one another in the Lord. Our children were given a chance to partake in this years VBS. Volunteers from the States came to teach and care for our kids. What a blessing!
Our drive back home was to last about 8 hours. As we approached the border into Botswana we saw a huge line of buses and people. We spent 2 and a half hours crossing the border. It being Easter weekend many different religions were meeting together. These religions may worship their ancestors, their leader, witchcraft, man-made idols, and/or a watered down message of our dear Lord. There at the border crossing, I was reminded of the lostness that surrounds many of us.
Please continue to pray for believers around the world who are proclaiming the Truth of Jesus. "Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20
