Moments to Cherish...

As I live in a dry land there is much richness in the soil of this life.
The richness of friendships that have taken years to cultivate,
And the smiles that greet me have replaced curious, questioning stares.
I reflect today on God's faithfulness.
Helping me push through the fear of being in a foreign place,
And comforting me as I miss my loved ones,
Watching my children play barefoot and climb trees, Hearing their giggles as they have developed dear friendships of their own,
Praying with those who are burdened for the many lost souls,
Rejoicing in the testimonies of prayers answered.
Feeling the gentle hand of my Savior leading me on the path of dying to self and living in Him.
These are some of the moments I cherish....

Livingstone Memorial

"He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 10:39
Today we traveled about 30 miles west of where we live in order to visit the mission base of David Livingstone and his family.
We were shown by our guide, "David", what is left of the church building and home place. The church was also used as a school and his home was used as a medical clinic. I tried to imagine what it must have been like over a 160 years ago.
It was a special time for our family to reflect on those who have come before us on this journey and all that they sacrificed so that others could hear about the saving grace of Jesus.
